About the AntlionAntlions belong to the Myrmelontidae family, and are a group containing over 2000 species. Their larvae stage are ferocious hunters with enormous jaws, while adult stage appears more like dragonflies, making one of the insects with the most distinguishable juvenile and adult stage. Their body possess three pairs of walking legs with a plump abdomen. They live all around the world.

To trap their preys, antlion larvae dig huge pits in the dirt or sand for the prey to fall in. Waiting hidden in the bottom, the antlion larvae then grabs the individual with its big jaws and use its mendibles to inject their digestive enzymes.
